President Obama heads overseas this week where he will finally escape all the depressing talk about the US economic disaster and instead engage in refreshingly different talk about the world economic disaster.

We at USDemocrazy feel for the President. We feel he might need a laugh or two to get him through the week. So we are posting some amusing goodies that we have found on the web to start his (and your) week with a giggle.

To get the President on the international mood we start with a clip from Scottish (now American) comedian and late night talk show host Craig Ferguson talking about his mother’s love of America.

We couldn’t resist this gem from the brilliant Andy Borowitz who has some Heinous Investment Advice to share.

While traveling, we recommend the President open his laptop on Air Force One and check out the fun satirical website Political Irony. The site is full of great columns and cartoons.

Speaking of cartoons, the Prez may want to check out some foreign cartoonists who will no doubt be drawing him during his European adventure. Here’s two greats: England’s Steve Bell and Swiss Patrick Chappatte.

Finally if the President wants a little more challenge in his downtime (as if he doesn’t have enough challenges…) he can take the cartoon test at The New Yorker to assess his humor bonafides. (We answered correctly 4 out of 5… How about you?)
