I saw The Hurt Locker, and honestly, it was mediocre at best. It did not deserve to win best picture at the Oscars, especially over Avatar which was groundbreaking.
One within our class thinks a Serious Man was a more worthy choice.
And then of course there is Avatar.
I don’t believe now is the time. Women have been gradually advancing into male roles for ages. I would say Hilary Clinton running for office reflects this better than best director.
