Sorry!! Sorry!! Kinda…

by kaltoons News

from Jack Ohman, The Oregonian

The art of saying “sorry” is , well, in a sorry state.

Last week golfer Tiger Woods took a swing at making an apology to the world for his extra-marital dalliances. It was just one in a now never-ending parade of press pardon pronouncements by prominent people.

Now it is Toyota’s turn to ask for forgiveness. The heads of the world’s largest auto maker are on an epic apologize-a-thon.

The once reliable car company has recalled over 8 million vehicles for troubles with gas pedals and brakes.

Today the boss of the Japanese company (grandson of the founder) Akio Toyota will try to convince a skeptical public that Toyota is a good corporate citizen. He is going to get a grilling in front of a US congressional committee who will be seeking answers not apologies.

He has admitted that perhaps the company grew “too fast” and had its pedal to the metal (editor: bad choice of metaphor) in the effort to top US car maker General Motors.

We at USDemocrazy sympathize with Mr. Toyota. We are constantly apologizing to our teachers/friends/IRS for the idiotic mistakes we’ve made.We have two recommendations for Mr. Toyota:  be truthful, and drive a Buick.
