We here at U.S. Democrazy don’t really remember our history lessons (we were in the back, doodling and daydreaming). Still, we’re pretty sure the textbooks say that the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock.
As it turns out, we were misinformed! Provincetown, Massachusetts is launching a campaign to inform everyone: The Pilgrims landed there, NOT in Plymouth.
This isn’t the first time that Provincetown has tried to correct us. A poet once sent every state in the union a message in a bottle which read: “Not on Plymouth Rock but on Provincetown Sand; The Pilgrim Fathers first came to land.”
We wish Provincetown good luck with their campaign. And Provincetown, we suggest having a huge Thanksgiving party next year to get the word out even more. We’re going to RSVP early and say yes!
